Democratic Senators Feinstein, Schumer Press for Assault on Independent Journalism

California Senator Dianne Feinstein has proposed an amendment to the Media Shield Law that would limit the law’s protection only to “real reporters,” not bloggers and other alternative media.

During a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Feinstein defined a journalist as “a salaried agent” of a media company.

I suspect that most real investigative journalists are paid on commission for individual articles and are not salaried employees.

I enjoy making them. That's me, the talking head.

Please share the video, or any others I make with your fb feed, etc...I hate asking, but we small timers have no money for billboards and PR campaigns.

Take care,

expose stories that make the government and/or elected officials look bad or expose violations of the law.

After having watched what has been happening for the last decade, I can see why they would like to limit the First Amendment and effectively limit the free press to only government approved members.

I'm not familiar with WBAI, personally, but "alternative broadcast media" such as http://www.democracynow.org and http://therealnews.com/t2/ are vitally important to protect.

what, if anything, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein have to talk about. Feinstein's ties to Wall Street and the war machine are well documented as well. If she runs again, hopefully she'll be primaried.

but she remains popular because she appears to be a "Centrist" and Californians like that. But looks to me like she's gotten even more noxious since the last time she was on the ballot, which was only last year! And we are stuck with DiFi until 2019! I'm sorry, America. I tried!

. . . and a few other large special interests? Why do I get the feeling that they are the beneficiaries of laws written by the large contingent of shysters in Congress that make a distinction between a large campaign contribution and a bribe? The law has to make such a distinction, I suppose, because people with mere common sense won't.

Here's another distinction that is antiquated: A Democratic congresscritter who takes money from a large corporation and does its bidding and represents it interests instead of those of the people they represent is a Republican, or doing a damned good impersonation of one.

I'm tired of people like Feinstein and Schumer representing corporate interests and hiding behind national security to justify it. Any problem with national security is not nearly as large and is musch easier to fix than crongressmen and Senators of both parties who are so crooked they need a corkscrew to get dressed in the morning.

This guy needs to re-think his audio presentation. Not bad, but the mic should be closer.

I am working on that. Would it be too distracting to have the mic in the shot? My lapel mic picked up all kinds of crap from rubbing on the fabric every time I took a breath it seemed. That was from my back up recording, using a Blue Snowball USB mic about three feet from me recording into an I-Mac, and then synching the audio with the video. The audio that I record with a mic directly into the camera (I use a Canon Rebel DSLR) seems to pick up too much noise. Any advice is greatly appreciated, as I want this show to always be improving.

Sincerely,

Dave

I wish I had the technical know-how. However, maybe a boom-mic (not necessarily a Sennheiser...even a some cheap mic) hanging down just above the shot might give a better signal. No big complaint on my part but the your voice sounded like you were standing at the back of the room.
