1968 Denver and the air force families I knew there watching their loved ones get on the plane to Vietnam and this was on the radio every day. Brings it all back every time I hear this beautiful song. Did not know that Cass Eliot wrote it.

as hippies, but we sure could use hippies in America again. Instead the movements we get are teabaggers. Sad.

Nowadays, it seems that's all anyone talks about. Even worse, people obsessed with their "careers," as if that's their main purpose in life. :/

My wife and I saw John Denver in a concert in Austin a week before he died. One of the best concerts I've ever attended. Just him and his 12 string guitar, no backup band or singers. His voice was better and richer than ever and his guitar playing provided all the accompaniment he needed. He was amazing.
