(23,730 posts)but that seems to have produced a backlash at home (9% in favor), Cameron loses, Hollande's floundering
if they can reassure enough people that it's "a limited strike against specific and known targets," the reaction will be sufficiently drawn-out and muted: waiting a week or a month loses Them nothing, and they still get their war to get bogged down in (for the $$$, destabilization, whatevs)
I mean, who remembers their lies about Libya--or even that we attacked Libya? (except as the partisan Benghazi!!11 football?)

(25,183 posts)but one thing hit me. There was an assertion that only about 9 percent of the American public thought that it was OK to hit Syria with Tomahawk strikes, but I've heard about surveys on the radio that show a lot more support for options that couldn't possibly involve any of our service members being captured, killed, or hurt.
I'd like to know where that 9 percent figure comes from.
