Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson (Ret) who was the Chief of Staff to US Secretary of State Colin Powell in the runup to GW2 (in which role he helped to pass on the cooked intelligence used as a justification for invading Iraq) tells Cenk at the Young Turks that what he hears from the intelligence community is that the evidence linking the gas attack to Assad is "realy flakey" and he states it is quite possible the gas attack could have been a false flag operation by the oppositionn forces or even by the Israelis.

(8,333 posts)I'm guessing that segment is from that date or just before. We already knew about the alleged chemical attack at that point, i think. --- edited to add. Wait, I take that back! According to Doctors without borders, the attack was on Aug 21. So, I have no idea what's going on!
Something definitely happened because Doctors Without Borders have been in contact with reliable sources that are reporting neurotoxic symptoms in hospitals. More at http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/press/release.cfm?id=7029&cat=press-release
But who is responsible? I really don't know what to make of it.

(5,927 posts)I mean, it looks just like Cenk's show when it was on Current, I watched it quite a bit. (Man do I miss Keith) But if Current had it's last broadcast on the 15th but the chemical attack was Aug 21.....WTF. Maybe Cenk hasn't taken off the Current logo from his webcast? No that doesn't sound right...mystery.
I agree with your last line: Who is responsible? Don't know what to make of it. False flag operation? Accident being exploited? Very confusing times.

(8,333 posts)Wasted the past half hour looking for the original video. I can't get into the TYT site to check all their content because it is by subscription only. It's a compelling interview, and I really want to know when it aired. Wilkerson had some very interesting comments that deserve more follow-up coverage.

(8,333 posts)I found a reference to the video, but the original was no longer on youtube.
Apparently Wilkerson does interviews for therealnews.com. I did a search on his name, and the third last entry of the first results page had a video link described as
Videos - Col. Lawrence Wilkerson: Chemical weapon use in Syria ...
May 4, 2013 ... Retired Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff to Colin Powell during the Bush administration, talks to Cenk about how President ...
That link was to a a page that does not play the video because it is no longer on youtube. But the caption says, Col. Lawrence Wilkerson: Chemical weapon use in Syria 'could have been an Israeli false flag...
I don't know how the OP found that video, but it is not referring to the current crisis.
I have no idea why they were discussing this in May!
Edited to add: earlier, I had trouble loading the OP's youtube video so I did not see the date, and so i set off on my wild goose chase. A minute ago, it just loaded properly, and I see that the date is May 6. All that work for nuthin'. I need to get a life.

(14,549 posts)his analysis of Israel's geopolitical situation is good, eg 'Israel is in the most dangerous environment it has seen since 1948.'
I would note also that Netanyahu's bet on Romney during the campaign was a gross miscalculation.

(3,299 posts)Obama wasn't exactly statesmanlike in moving the redline from Iran to Syria. Three dimensional chess? I remember years and years ago when neocons thought that "bringing nuclear war to Russia's doorstep" was a viable strategy. Now a military attack on their longtime satellite appears to present "no problem" of triggering WWIII. The people running our country are seriously deranged.

August 30, 2013
Gen. Martin Dempsey, Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman, has spoken soberly about the dangers from any military strike on Syria, but press reports indicate President Obama is still set on launching cruise missiles in the coming days, an action that former U.S. intelligence professionals say should prompt Dempseys resignation.
