The really bad news is that radioactive Caesium 137 is water soluble.

300,000 people being evacuated for the storm and significant damage anticipated ... but someone wants to focus on Fukushima?

What exactly is it that you're worried could happen?

Both appear to show flooding damage entirely unrelated to the nuclear plant.

The title is from a youtube video.

You might, for instance, provide a link to a news source?

Look, we are SUPPOSED to post the VIDEO with its TITLE on it. I DID not make this video. You have a problem with it, go to youtube and complain to the poster! Get the hell off my back!

You must be new here. If you post a thread for conversation, replies to the point of the OP will come to you. You can't say "take it up with someone else". If you don't want to see replied to the substance (sic) of the OP... don't post.

So there would appear to be good cause for concern as to what might be the conditions less than a hundred miles away and in the path of the storm.

It's a major storm doing significant damage and taking lives.

So it's ridiculous that the news we get here is that there are "fears for Fukushima". The storm can't hurt the reactors (I tried to get the original poster to put up the RT article that this came from so that we could all get a laugh at their ridiculous notion that the storm could "topple" a reactor). The worst thing that it can do is further complicate their problems with handling contaminated water. But there will be far more radiation washed into the sea from areas that were originally contaminated in 2011.

So why not run a piece about the actual caused for concern?

The DU member who is being querulous with you does the same thing to any Fukishima posts, so take it with a grain of salt..or a bucket of same.
Here is an article I found this am:

Typhoon Man-yi hits Japan raising fears about Fukushima nuclear plant

Typhoon Man-yi has hit central Japan as officials issued a "special warning" of heavy rain, amid fears the storm could go on to hit the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.

The typhoon is generating heavy rain and wind gusts of more than 140 kilometres per hour.

It is tracking north-east along the main Japanese island of Honshu at a speed of 45 kilometres per hour and was expected to pass over Fukushima this afternoon.

TEPCO workers at the plant are battening down the site as the typhoon approaches.

They have attached ropes to outdoor piping and pumps, and are using large weights to try to prevent cranes from possibly toppling over.
With torrential rains expected this afternoon, there are fears that more contaminated water will seep into the groundwater and flow into the sea.

than they are destabilized already, causing even more radioactive material to leak into the ocean and atmosphere, adding to risk in Japan and around the world.

If this typhoon makes it worse - and it can get horribly worse - then it'll simply expedite what is going to happen eventually anyway. The fact that it's toxic spew is already circumnavigating the Pacific is just the first phase. Sun & wind & sea power could've been harnessed a century ago, but our wealth magnates figured out early on, how they could produce power cheaply - environment be damned. Now we're reaping the hidden clauses of the contracts we so gleefully signed.
