(56,828 posts)David Dinkins was elected in 1989 and served from 1990 to 1993. Still, stunning that NYC has not had a Democrat for mayor in 20 years.

(360 posts)of Dayton, Ohio we elected a democrat as Mayor, Nan Whaley. Sherrod Brown was in Dayton a couple of weeks ago and said at a rally that this election was one of the most important in the State.

(45,319 posts)I'd also like to mention that Mayor Parker is a conservative type who is mayor in a State in which other gay people are subjected to legal discrimination and Parker, being a 'Moderate' says nothing and does nothing about it.
