Say the minimum wage should never be less than $10 or 0.1% of the salary plus compensations for the highest paid employee in the company, whichever is greater.

So that if the CEO earns 50 million, the lowest paid employee earns $50K. That seems quite fair to me.

As I recall, the CEO can't make more in a month than the lowest-paid employee makes in a year.

CHF 20/hr to begin in 2015, although the proposal still has to be approved by the cantonal parliament.

http://www.thelocal.ch/20131111/neuchatel-set-for-first-swiss-minimum-wage

The Swiss will also be voting at a national level for a minimum wage of CHF 4000/mo.

FYI: 1 CHF >1 USD right now.

At least a tax incentive or something. Not just workers, but even companies and shareholders suffer when there are incentives for a CEO to make $XXX-kazillion by, say, taking outrageous risks knowing taxpayers will bail them out if things get too ugly.

dividends are taxed at a lower rate than labor. This is totally ridiculous and obviously (short term) is designed to get more people involved in wall st. , so that they will agree that dividends should be taxed lower.

Working for your money is so passé.

cannot support a family on that wage. There was a $10 an hour proposal, the same goes there.
Medical, food, gas, school even for "free public schools", rent, mortgage, insurance....all of these (according to government) not affected by inflation ..ha

Our economic model should be closer to Sweden's.
Our population is bigger but I do not see how that would affect the 12:1 ratio.

Except that's way not enough. I say it should be $22/hr across the board minimum-wage And every time the cost of living goes up, the wages goes up. Yes, I am a liberal. We have gone backwards long enough.
I say we put it in forward and get on down the road to peace and prosperity!

with a much higher wage, are good enough for congress....

Union representation should be available for all. Being represented w/out having to pay the measly (about $25 monthly) that is being enforced in "right to work states" is meant to financially ruin Unions and it is working.

Congress should raise the federal income taxes on wealthy people, and the corporate tax rate that corporations pay in this country, as well.
And raise the capital gains taxes, and the inheritance tax, too.

Do three warning beeps, have an announcer come on and say "Please read what is on your television screen" and then, in dire tone, say "...and EVERY REPUBLICAN voted NOOOOOOOOOOOOO...." followed by a perky:

... if a person lies as long as they have, they begin to believe their own lies. They really can't differentiate between reality and the lies they tell. They have totally lost it, and if there's a Hell, they are going there. Either there or to purgatory, if they truly are mentally deranged. We may need to pass a law that every person who runs for office has to take a pass/fail Rorschach test. It's not political anymore... it's psycholigical.
