To the rest, this is history.

It's more than history. The entire weekend is the reason we are where we are today.

Were it not for Smedley Butler, all this shit would have begun 30 years before Kennedy's assasination.

The folks who were undone by Butler in 1934 didn't go away. They learned from their mistakes, gathered money and strength, and tried again.

Also interesting to note that in the same year as Butler's explosive revelation, the Senate was holding their so-called "Merchants of Death" hearings, focusing on whether the burgeoning arms industry had dragged the country into WWI in the pursuit of profits.

There was considerable overlap between the industrialists implicated in the Business Plot and those mentioned in the "Merchants of Death" hearings.

Kennedy was NOT going to be part of that same group of U.S. imperialists, based on his foreign policy experience… especially after he was lied to and conned into the Bay of Pigs by the CIA. The Dulles brothers were at the helm of the CIA and State Dept. But, Kennedy turned down Operation North Woods after the Bay of Pigs fiasco.

Then, Kennedy released the dogs and that was to have been the cornerstone of his 1964 campaign. After evidence of the rouge elements of imperialism, a la the Dulles brothers, Kennedy knew they had to go.

So, after Kennedy was removed, then Allen Dulles should have controlled the Warren Commission's work, right?

Over the years, based on my own reading and understanding, the only credible evidence of real conspirator type work is the very real cabal of evil doers who have since continued to run the country (learning well from the days of FDR).

When all things are considered, all the pieces of the puzzle should have come to be full circle after all these years. Oswald was NO lone gunman, and surely that horse shit about single bullet theory should shame Arlen Specter over and over in his grave.

No more...

… but thanks for the 1st link… I've now tied the real face to the character as seen in Oliver Stone's "JFK", which I watched again this weekend.

Funny that out of all the related movies, I had to pop in my own to see it again, cause nothing worth watching on JFK was even on cable.

intelligent and analytical thinker, didn't say too much but while watching this he stated to no one in particular, well, Oswald will never be able to tell us anything and that's just the way "they" want it. We said nothing, the whole episode was too chaotic to absorb at the time. Ruby and Oswald were both patsies in my mind..

I think we are still feeling effects from this incident.

This is a riveting documentary that deals with Jim Garrison trying to prosecute covert elements in the JFK case:

Do you know whether Mr. Barber's, JFK special will proceed?

I hope so but you know the truth will be called just another crazy CT.

I tell my children and their friends what a different country (America) I grew up in.
I hope their generation can really change things.

IMO, Bernie Sanders as POTUS could help so much.

Welcome to DU.

Thanks.

As far as I know there isn't an official update yet, but one of the key aspects, having RFK Jr. speak at the event, has been cancelled. Apparently RFK Jr. thought at first it was a good idea then later changed his mind to avoid controversy. Interestingly, he did pen a provocative article about JFK vs the war machine in the latest issue of Rolling Stone.

the "lone nut" meme out of the water. The crap about Ruby wanting to spare Jackie a trial was laughable. It's amazing the "grieving citizen kills lone assassin" narrative was effectively sold to the public -- at least at first. Ruby himself said the truth would never be known, and so far he's been proven right.
