I've been swimming in Lake Superior in July and it's unbearably cold even then. These people are nuts.

water, and felt a jolt right up to my armpit, LOL. It was even colder than the streams in Glacier National Park. I still remember that knife-to-my-armpit feeling to this day.

Always seemed to be a lot of riptides, undertow and waves crashing into each other when I lived in that area...that is awesome to see though. If only we had more politicians who loved doing their jobs as much as those surfers love riding those waves! I'd be willing to bet that the country would be in a whole lot better shape!

Never again. Even in a relatively enclosed bay in the midst of summer I got an ice cream headache just diving in.

The waves were crashing in. And it was fucking cold.

But Algoma is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Once one visits, one never forgets it.

All this and more within a days drive from the US border at Sault Ste. Marie.

At every turn in the road, the scenery takes ones breath away.
