Trans Woman Dares Councilman to Literally Cast First Stone at Her

The scriptures came alive like Peter Frampton this week at a Shreveport, Louisiana City Council meeting, as a Bible-quoting councilman got an object lesson from a transgender constituent. Councilman Ron Webb introduced a resolution to repeal a recently-passed non-discrimination ordinance, which he had opposed because “The Bible tells you homosexuals are an abomination.”

At a city council meeting this week, a trans-woman named Pamela Raintree turned the Biblical tables on Webb:

One of them was Pamela Raintree, a transgender woman who quoted the Bible to Webb, saying, “Leviticus 20:13 states, ‘If a man also lie with mankind as he lieth with a woman, they shall surely put him to death,’” she said. “I brought the first stone, Mr. Webb, in case that your Bible talk isn’t just a smoke screen for personal prejudices.”

Minutes later, Webb withdrew his resolution without calling for a vote.

but because it is right in their face about the validity of their Holy Bible. It is, after all, the Bible that they rely on to subjugate a whole class of Americans. So this move said, basically "If you are going to rely on the Bible, then do what the Bible says. You can't have it both ways."

Well done, young lady.

And standing up and doing something like that takes a lot of courage, but in times like these it seems it's necessary.

to amaze me how the rpubs continue to use their written word (the bible) to justify their actions when in fact they barely know that book. I know it happens with all beliefs/politicians but it somehow is more so with the rpubs. Pick and choose parts while ignoring others has been going on throughout the years. this is one of the many ......reasons we must continue the fight to keep religion out of politics.
