Brava Jennifer!

(8,175 posts)Or is that the way she always acts? I've not seen her for a long time, and even then it might have been only once. She came across very poorly in this.

(11,197 posts)It was kind of painful to watch...like a drunk making a fool of themselves. It was mentioned that she had taken a fall, so perhaps it was some sort of pain meds??

(1,288 posts)Everyone here who was watching was like "Oh, she is on something." She was looking all over the room like she was in another dimension inside her brain.

(6,002 posts)she had a few drinks before the show. I don't remember her ever being ridiculously easy in years gone by, and she said absolutely nothing of substance.
I have to say Steve Schmidt always seems like a straight shooter, he's wrong, but there is an honesty that shines through.
Granholm was eloquent.

She seemed doddering and fairly dull.

(23,199 posts)If she had been able to move her face and lips when she talked, she would have appeared and sounded more normal. The facial surgery is affecting her speech and without any visible facial expression, the effect is that she is drunk or a zombie. 2 cents.

(9,688 posts)are two of the most totally bought and paid for weasels in the MSM political pundit/expert business. Neither are "Republican" or "Democrat", both are on the take to the highest bidder.
When a host has one of them on to pontificate I automatically dismiss that host as being of the same kind.
I didn't watch the segment and don't understand why anyone would. Who gives a fuck who "wins" in a so-called "debate" where Mary Matilin is touted as spokesperson for some "side".
Jeez, when will we ever learn.

(20,453 posts)Since it's time to cash in again (their children need perhaps need post graduate funding), it only makes sense to get a spot on Maher's program, then be invited to the next race
then to the speaker circuit.
Neither one of them has done much to elevate progress, but perpetuate the soap opera circuit of political entertainment.
Matalin should have been perp walked for covering all of the dastardly deeds in her part of the Dick Cheney inner circle.
I'm gonna watch Maher's show in replay (forgot about the new season, so didn't catch this Friday night). I'll probably be disgusted with the entire show, sans any contribution from Jennifer Granholm.
Granholm would make a far better president than HRC. Old serpent faced Carville should just slither away with that tall glass of water hag in tow. Sick of this shit...

(9,688 posts)"Washington Insiders Carville and Matalin Dissect the Presidential Campaign
By Stephanie Berrong
09/17/2008 -
The battle of the sexes met the battle for the White House in Tuesdays opening session as political gurus Mary Matalin and James Carville stepped to separate podiums. The husband-and-wife team, who epitomize the axiom politics make strange bedfellows with their famously divergent political persuasions, entertained seminar-goers with personal anecdotes and insights on the presidential campaign.
You are living in the midst of stunning political history! exclaimed Carville, a Democratic strategist who managed Bill Clintons 1992 presidential campaign. In his signature Louisiana drawl, Carville pointed to the breathtaking diversity in the field of candidates and the robust television ratings for political events so far in the campaign. Youve never seen anything like that ever, ever, ever, he said. So much for the fact that Americans dont care about politics.
Matalin is well-known as a Republican campaign advisor who has served as counselor to Vice President Dick Cheney and directed President George Bushs 1992 re-election campaign. She explained where Democratic nominee Barack Obama has gone wrong in recent weeks and what Republican candidate John McCain has done well. She said Obama should have spent more time unifying his base after a long, hard-fought primary battle with Hillary Clinton. McCain, on the other hand, started unifying his party immediately, Matalin said.
She called McCains surprise choice of Sarah Palin as his vice presidential pick the big game changer, but warned that its not over. In the end, this is a 50/50 country, Matalin said. Each side knows what they have to do."

(21,115 posts)and Ms Granholm laughed in her face? It was the highlight of the night for me!
I watched this clip and yes it was there...she laughed at her about Hillary Clinton. Mary Matlin was so busted trying to argue that not having women in political power is perfectly acceptable to her...she doesn't even believe her own bullshit....Then at the moment that the cheer went up ...Jennifer laughed and moved toward Mary Matlin....it was an incredible moment. As she moved toward her...Mary Matlin got that old sourpuss look on her face and her body language was moving away from Ms Granholm....she was accepting defeat knowing that THE person most likely right now to be the next President (like it or not) IS Hillary Rodham Clinton. Without Chris Christie there is likely no one left on the right that stands much of a chance against her...

(57,936 posts)Do you think she would fight really hard for paid sick leave and vacation for all employees?
Do you think that Hillary Clinton would fight equally hard for high quality day-care affordable for all?
I seriously doubt it. Wall Street wouldn't support her if she wanted to raise the standard of living for the women who clean their toilets and take care of their pampered children. It takes someone free from debt to Wall Street to change our country and give women truly equal rights.

(57,936 posts)Hillary's love of the H1-B visas is proof that she could care less about American working people and less yet about true political or economic equal opportunity.
What are H1-B workers in terms of our economy?
They are temporary workers who are preferred by employers because they are, for the skills they offer, willing to accept lower wages than an American-educated or -trained worker would require in order to build a life here in our society.
As for the impact of H1-B workers on political and economic opportunity in our country, they strike a blow to equality. Other immigrants enter on visas that give them a choice from the get-go to stay in the US and become citizens with full voting and other civil rights. People will work visas are second class in the country. They can't vote or enjoy other guarantees that citizens enjoy. The H1-B workers are third-class. They are not offered the prospect of staying and acquiring citizenship. They are told from the get-go that the way to voting and other American rights will not be offered to them without a big struggle.
So I do not trust Hillary's understanding of the importance of fair wages for work of the importance of equal opportunity for immigrants or even those of us who were born citizens perhaps of families in the US for many generations.
She would not back H1-B visas if she were on the side of American working people and those aspiring to American citizenship or equality.
Here is a video of Hillary Clinton speaking about H1-B visas.
That is just one example of her disregard for equal opportunity for all in America and for the interests of working Americans.
