called "whoopi goldberg presents moms mabley" --an hbo doc. now on my wish list.

And I guess she "worked blue" as they used to say.
I was way too young to have seen her real act. Mostly what I saw was talk show stuff in the early to mid 70's. But she would talk long shit about people and issues that needed talking about.
