appeals to my 60's mentality. Oh I got 12 stitches in the head for that mentality. Momma always told me I was hard headed. Might just work if enough stop scratching their ass and balls, get off the couch and say, NO MORE!

Consumerism goes to the very heart of globalization and worker dis-empowerment.

Walk away from the car culture and stop treating electronics like they're disposable.

Then, while we're doing that, demand union representation and other democratic reforms.

If we focus on just COMPLETE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM and PUBLICLY FUNDED ELECTIONS, then we can get our Representative government back! We can fix the other things after with OUR politicians.
Too many issue weaken and dilute the message and confuse the average American. It's one of the reasons sound bites are so effective!

You and I and the millions of like thinking Americans need to keep saying this in letters to the editor, FB et al, emails, conversations, interviews, demonstrations, etc. Our numbers will keep growing as this is the correct concept or prescription to cure our nation's democratic ills.

as much as my limited skills and time allow. To me it is so clear what has happened I have trouble understanding why others don't see it. I mean, how hard is it to understand that if it is legal to make the kind of donations to elected officials that a quid pro quo would not be expected. I watched John Edwards sit with a local billionaire attorney who promised a regular payment to his Presidential campaign if he would agree to get the Estate Tax lifted. This is how it is done, if the candidate wants to keep the money coming in from this guy he knows he has to start things in motion on that front. He has to start mentioning it on the campaign trail to get on record as supporting that position. Why do you think that politicians spend more time fundraising than they do legislating? We allow legal bribery and then wonder why Democrats are "spineless" and "cave." We should start calling it for what it really is.
When you have 6 companies own 90% of the media you have almost complete control. I know you understand these things but I have to say them for others. I mean GE didn't buy a Network for the profits it makes. They have their tentacles in everything and with a Network they can control the message which has the added benefit of increasing their leverage with politicians that might consider going against their interests.
This is the ROOT CAUSE, we fix this and we can fix most everything else! We can bust up the media conglomerates and redo the FCC. Bust up the Wall Street banks and institute real reforms....
