run by a handful of major shareholders and boards of directors that they select, to transform enterprises into democratic institutions where the workers themselves collectively make the decisions which ground an economic system..."

quote from video

So we need to get busy learning the financial end of how to gain the ownership, so we CAN make the decisions to transform it, and where that is not possible start a competing business (which will win with the new principles, yes? Else why are we doing this?) , or simply substitute the thing you needed with something different and make that yourself.

Slow, but likely the only solution. This is exactly what the organizers of labor were calling for in the days of the Industrial Unions of 1865 to about 1920ish, nearly those exact words - not socialism, but cooperative and democratic ownership of the means of production.
