I don't think it's quite what the reporter implies. I can't. for one second. buy the sad story that Shell CEO was telling about how he's the victim. I call BS on that one in particular.

It strikes me that he might be on to something with regard to where that cash ends up but I don't think that the politicians are shaking down the oil companies for one thing. I think it's the other way around, the corporations tell the politicians that they will raise a pile of cash for them as long as they show favoritism for what the oligarchs want. that Shell guy is going on TeeVee to sing a distraction song of victimhood that stinks to high heaven.

It is CNN after all.
