(4,473 posts)So God was creating man. And his little assistant came up to him and he said: "Hey, we've got all these bodies left, but we're right out of brains, we're right out of hearts and we're right out of vocal chords." And God said: "Fuck it! Sew 'em up anyway. Smack smiles on their faces and make them talk out of their arses." And lo, God created the Tory Party.

(15,366 posts)Just substitute "GOP" for "Tory Party" and later in the sketch "Ronald Reagan" for "Margaret Thatcher."
How much the policies of those two harmed the democratic progress generally is still being discovered.

Sixth-grade teacher Rita Roark has told her students that the universe was created by God about 6,000 years ago, and taught that both the Big Bang theory and evolution are false, according to the lawsuit. She told her students that if evolution was real, it would still be happening: Apes would be turning into humans today.

(53,061 posts)After receiving a barrage of critical tweets Tuesday over the incendiary comments, Black insisted that saying Obama should be hanged for treason did not constitute a threat. Free speech, no threats. #goodgrief, he wrote on Facebook Tuesday afternoon. Yes, I am still running. Im not ashamed for saying that government officials should be held to the same standards that we are.
Black has received increased pressure from his own party to back out of the race. Florida Gov. Rick Scott tweeted Tuesday that Blacks comments were outrageous and urged him to withdraw his candidacy.
I do not take orders from the governor, Im staying in the race, Black told the Tampa Bay Times.

UPDATE: 12 p.m. -- Republican leaders came out strong against Atanus Thursday morning. Illinois Republican Chairman Jack Dorgan called on the candidate to end her congressional campaign, saying in a statement: "The offensive statements by Susanne Atanus have no place in the modern political debate, and she has no place on the ballot as a Republican. Her candidacy is neither supported nor endorsed by the leaders of our party, and she should withdraw from the race immediately.
Adam Robinson, chairman of the Chicago Republican Party, emphasized in another statement that Atanus "is not in any way affiliated with any of our efforts in the Chicago GOP, nor have we ever supported, endorsed, or assisted her in any way at any time."

The last photo, of the moron from MI who wants to fence off Detroit, does not want to create a black ghetto...no...even worse...he wants to fence off Detroit after herding all the American Indians there...and then toss blankets and corn to them...

(81,179 posts)Glad you're here! I can't believe these people are allowed to say shit like this - and not be taken to task, aside for a few blips on TV. SHEESH! So far there's so little deterrence in effect. You can still say this crap without consequence, without much of a price to pay. Yeah, maybe some of 'em make statements "condemning" what's said. Maybe some of 'em blather on about how they must change their tone.
Notice that's all they're interested in doing anything about - the cosmetics. All they care about is their "tone." It's NOT how they're saying any of it. It's WHAT they're saying. It's not how they dress it up or put lipstick on it. It's the most foundational, essential, core set of beliefs that stink. And until they address that, they're going nowhere with women.
