Who could ever forget when CNN put Paul Wellstone and Robert Byrd on after the State of the Union, and Politico hung on their every word?

He needs a reality check for sure. Of course, Paul will tell us he will be shutting down all the departments and therefore will not as much money but it an utopia which will not happen. He speaks to the libertarians who believes if we just listen to them then everything will be alright, too much Mises and it will not work today.

This is a guy who, after all, wants to cut food stamps to kids if their parents have another baby.

He really said that?

Well when I think about it, it does makes total sense to starve a child in order to punish the parent for having another child. Paul Rand is a genius when it comes to social policy!

is deregulation and predatory banks. The cause of the financial crisis was tax cuts for the rich and unpaid for wars.

He talks about "alleviating poverty," but wants to get rid of the minimum wage.

He talks about Reagan, but Reagan was the first one to drive the budget deficits insanely high.

I find this to be amusing http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/house-gop-leadership-rand-paul-state-of-the-union

House Republicans are reportedly unhappy with Sen. Rand Paul's decision to give his own response to President Obama's State of the Union address, with a leadership aide ripping the move as "blatant" self-promotion in comments to the Huffington Post.

The aide told the Post that GOP leadership offices were "unhappy" with Paul offering his own response, which competed with the official party reply given by Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) and a tea party response from Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT).

The aide lamented that the divided response resulted in stories highlighting the still-apparent fractures within the Republican party. The offices of Paul, Lee and the GOP leadership told the Post that they had not coordinated their strategy in rebutting the president's address.

Reagan solving problems means GOVERNMENT SOLVED THEM.

Our problem is nothing like during Reagan's terms. Volcker disinflation caused Reagan's high unemployment and easy money was the cure. Government expanded by 1,000,000 people.

"Work with the President". Meaningless Bullshit statement. He has done nothing but make unacceptable demands and made no reasonable concessions.

The crisis was caused by large investment banks taking on unmanageable derivative risks in the secondary market for home loans. Sub prime loans far exceeded anything legislatively required.

Government spending is quantitatively proven to create jobs (current conditions).

Milton Friedman suggested dropping a trillion dollars out of a helicopter if the country was ever in the situation that we are in today.

One case of fraud is fundamentally meaningless because fraud is an extremely small part of social safety net spending.

"Economic Freedom zones". Impossible to provide basic services, New Economic Geography suggest this offers NO benefits for agglomeration. The assertion that these will lead to prosperity is not based on any coherent economic models or theories.

Funnel federal dollars back to local governments. Exactly what REAGAN DID!!!!

Spending is falling.

Parents and College.... Rand Paul wants to cut government funding for College

Where are the jobs bills? Oh yeah you obstruct them.

Are we better off when we "print more money"? Yes, because the alternative is disinflation, higher unemployment, and worse long term ability to repay our debts.

Lack of jobs, not welfare is the cause of people's strife. What is the virtue of dooming people to absolute poverty in a land of plenty?

Multi-generational dependency is almost non-existent. The vast majority of social safety net participants return to work after a fairly short time. Multi-generational dependency = Newest code for poor African Americans.

"Taxes push business away and low taxes draw them back". This is quantitatively prove false. The effects of taxation on agglomeration are almost non-existent.
