TYT: Will God Determine Super Bowl Outcome? [SURVEY]

"A poll taken earlier this month by the Public Religion Research Institute found that 22 percent of respondents believe God plays some role in the outcome of sporting events.

In its sampling of 1,011 adults, the Washington, D.C.-based organization found that 26 percent of respondents pray for God's intervention to help their team and that 48 percent completely or mostly agreed that God rewards athletes who have faith with good health and success.

Daniel Shapiro, the strength and conditioning coach for the men's basketball team at the University of Washington, would seem to be among them. Players and coaches for the Huskies regularly assemble for pregame prayers, a tradition maintained by many in pro and college sports, including two that Shapiro has coached: the Sacramento Kings of the NBA and the University of Dayton."* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian break it down.

OK, then, what does it mean that God picked the teams from the two states that legalized cannabis to play in the SuperBowl this year?
Since conservatives and evangelicals say that he visits floods and misfortune on us because of gays and such, could he be sending a message that welcoming the tree of life is good by Him? Just wonderin'.

I would hope that all the god-botherers on the losing team, who prayed really, really hard (on their knees with hands tightly clasped.... because that matters, apparently) will realize that Jesus doesn't like them after all and prefers the other guys. Awwww, sucks to be you.
Maybe, just maybe, you should pay less attention to Jesus and more attention to your position, ya think? Or maybe some will come to the obvious conclusion that all this Jesus stuff is bullshit and they will get a life.

Nah. Wishful thinking.

Back in the 80's, Lou Pinella, manager of the Seattle Mariners, attributed his team's poor performance to "too many Christians in the line-up" who would give up when things got tough and put their fate in the hands of Jesus.

Yeah. That'll work.
