if we raise the minimum wage, do you realize how much more each service unit will have to produce in order to maintain current profits?????

Wait ... we cut U/C are walmart lost money? Well ... gargle, garble, garble ...

If all the minimum wage workers in you area get a higher wage, they can afford to buy more pie. She may have to hire more staff.

The people who argue minimum wage increases will force them to layoff workers haven't looked any further than their own payroll. They assume (quite incorrectly as it turns out) that the increase will not create any more customer demand. Honestly, I checked, and many economic modeling programs make the assumption that increasing the minimum wage has exactly zero effect on the overall economy. Then politicized economists use that bad assumption to conclude that an increase will hurt the economy. Then they argue we should do away with the minimum wage altogether, because, hell, don't you really miss slavery?
