So did Obama, Bill Clinton, and likely Hillary. So did most of those in congress right now. I sure did, most people I know did.

How about just being honest. Did it and did not inhale is laughable unless you're talking about Brownies or some other baked good.

bwahaaahaaa...I know there are some smart teens out there but they wouldn't be paying attention to politics and who said what.

I know there are exceptions to this but frankly, I think it's comical how these politicians think teens pay attention. So full of themselves.

- He seems to have a chronological-order disorder. BTW Senator, you said you didn't need marijuana to further your making of bad decisions? So are you saying that you made all your bad decisions, naturally? Do you use anything now that you're older and losing a step or two? Or are your bad decision-making skills as good as ever?

"Did a 16 year old Marco Rubio get away with breaking the law?"

"Strike that question; Did a 16 year old Marco Rubio deserve jail time? If your answer is 'no'; Why does a 16 year old kid today risk such a sentence?" (the only defensible justification for saying "no" is that the kid broke the law on pot but Rubio never did that)

"If yes, are you willing now to accept the very limited punishment of having to admit to acting stupidly?"

"Is it one standard for all Senator Rubio, yes or no? Why should you skate free for breaking a law you want to see enforced?"

He should have said, "No." Instead of "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....."

The difference in the two being the responses of "Pfft, he probably did." and "Wow, what a liar, he was probably baked his entire teenage years."

But he tried to save his position against pot, and used his pulpit to dig a huge hole for himself instead.

Dems, Repub, Independents, Greens, Democratic Socialists ( like me), and most use the same nonsensical excuse. Repubs say "I won't answer because then kids might see it as blah blah blah." Dems say "I did, but you shouldn't because blah blah blah." In other words, "you will screw up your life."

Really? Everybody I currently know smoked weed, and I am 64. My friends are lawyers and doctors and carpenters and teachers and artists and plumbers and social workers and so on and so on and scoobie doobie doobie ( always liked Sly). We all got high. Lots of us still get high.

The difference between me and my kids? They knew enough not to get high ( or drink, thank XXX) and drive by the time they had a license.

I wish the politicians - all of them - would all say "I got high, but I am not going to legalize it until I figure out how I can get some lobbyist money."

59. If "you wouldn't believe me" is his only reason for not saying "no"...
Wed Feb 12, 2014, 08:28 AM
Feb 2014

... then I think the next question is, why does he think people won't believe him?

According to the statistics I've seen, somewhere between about 40% and 60% of American adults have never tried pot. If Rubio claimed to be among them, why shouldn't people believe him? Does he think he has a credibility problem? It seems that would be a bigger issue for a candidate than whether or not he ever smoked pot.

So my followup: "Senator Rubio, you say people wouldn't believe you. Why do you think it is that people find you untrustworthy?"

(Of course, the real reason for not wanting to say No is that he knows that it somehow may come out in the future that he did smoke pot; and what's worse than saying you smoked pot? Saying you didn't and then being shown to be a liar.)
