"When Comcast announced its proposed acquisition of Time Warner Cable, it said the merger would bring significant cost savings and efficiencies that would "ultimately benefit customers." But Comcast doesn't expect these savings to bring price decreases, or even cause prices to rise less rapidly...".* This and the roles of Senator Charles Schumer and his brother Robert are broken down by The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur.

(18 posts)Our supplier is wowway. They just announced the first price increase in several years. If only they carried more PBS channels. I've given up on individually selecting channels, as they're bundled, and I don't see any way at this time to break that.

(17,301 posts)We started at $80 and now the bundled service for TV (the cheapest available), land line and internet connection is $180.
That's $60 a month for each item. I think I'll go see what dish has to offer. That's my only option here. ComCast has a monopoly on the cable connection here and prices are going higher and higher and higher.

(8,282 posts)and cut the cable cord but good. We bought an antennae and put it on the roof. We added an old computer to the tv and watch most everything online anymore. We used to pay 100 bucks a month (tv only) but only watched about 5 stations and most of those were free-over-the-air channels. We have google voice for our land line which is free (with a $40 modem type purchase, after market) and pay for internet service separately. Best decision we've ever made.
