TYT: Disney's New Boy Scout Policy Causes Conservative Freak Out

"The Walt Disney Company announced Saturday it would withdraw funding from the Boy Scouts of America beginning in 2015 unless the scouting organization overturns a policy banning gay leaders.

Disney doesn't directly donate to the Boy Scouts, but plans to stop allowing employees to do volunteer work through Disney's VoluntEARS program in exchange for cash donations to the Boy Scouts of America, reports CNN.

Disney employees raised a total of $4.8 million for charity in 2010 by volunteering for various events, including a triathlon for Children's Hospital Los Angeles, the Revlon Run-Walk for cancer, and Children's Hospital of Orange County Walk at Disneyland Resort. Groups become ineligible to receive aid from Disney through the company's volunteer-for-cash programs if they discriminate based on "race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, marital status, mental or physical ability, or sexual orientation," the company said."* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian break it down.

it was about over-consumption/sustainability and people connecting to each other, so yeah, they blew gaskets, bigtime.

"Why is it that Disney and other animators these days feel the need to indoctrinate kids about global warming? Whatever happened to a fun cartoon with cool animation, just for the sake of having a fun cartoon with cool animation? Now don’t get me wrong. WALL-E is a great movie, and it is definitely family-friendly. But why the underlying agenda of Hollywood and Disney to make the movie about global warming and pollution. Yes, we need to take care of the world and the environment. But to disguise indoctrination in the form of a cute animated robot, goes too far. If you’re wondering why I’m only giving WALL-E a 3.5 Lloyd rating, now you know. In my opinion the global warming agenda hurts this flick."
