What is the big picture in Ukraine today? Should it be interpreted legally or politically? What is China's attitude to the conflict in Ukraine? And, has Washington blinked? CrossTalking with Pepe Escobar, Ann Lee and Martin McCauley ...

Good discussion with differing viewpoints and Pepe Escobar is always an interesting Voice and Opinion.

but, then...those of us who love to read/watch differing opinions from International Sources would differ with your limited viewing as we have here in America. Faux News, CNN, MSNBC and what else?

The More Views from International Sources the Better for we Americans to view International/Global Politics.

After all Obama was elected because of emphasis on GLOBILIZTION and how good it is for America.

Many of us like to take this to heart and inform ourselves with International News for Balance.

watch RT on the subject of, lets say, Taiwan. But on the subject of Ukraine I prefer China Daily (see where I'm going with this?)

It doesn't have to be MSNBC. How about Poland Radio's Foreign Service, or news from Turkey, or (last, but not least) Al-Jazeera...

And, this show has multiple representations about Ukraine which is interesting to watch.

So you chastise this post...and yet you say you read international news. Some of us also like a Video Watch.

So...what's the problem.? I think we agree.

one of my non-western bookmarks that frequently surprise me, and he's always a good read. Like here:
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Central_Asia/CEN-01-120314.html

In Ukraine, the West supported an unconstitutional putsch against an elected government perpetrated, among others, by fascist/neo-nazi storm troopers (Svoboda, Right Sector) instrumentalized by US intelligence. After a Russian counterpunch, US President Barack Obama proclaimed that any referendum in Crimea would "violate the Ukrainian constitution and violate international law."

This is just the latest instance in the serial rape of "international law". The rap sheet is humongous, including; NATO bombing Serbia for 78 days in 1999 to allow Kosovo to secede; the 2003 US invasion and subsequent trillion-dollar occupation and civil war creation in Iraq; NATO/AFRICOM bombing Libya in 2011 invoking R2P ("responsibility to protect&quot as a cover to provoking regime change; US investment in the secession of oil-wealthy South Sudan, so China has to deal with an extra geopolitical headache; and US investment in perennial civil war in Syria.

I've been reading him at Asia Times since early in the Bush junta and have found his commentary right on in every way--exceedingly knowledgeable, great analytical mind, very informative and detailed; not afraid to give his opinion and backs it up with information that you can judge for yourself--very often information that we just don't get from the controlled corporate press here. He is also simpatico--can't think of a better word. Sums up: very honest, human, humane, pro-people.

Nice to see him. Didn't know what he looked like (or sounded like). It seemed to me that literally EVERY point he made on this show was important. I wish I had a transcript. (I'll search for one.)

Pepe Escobar is like the Paul Krugman of the world scene--so refreshing to feel the passion of their words, the honesty, the humanity!
