"A Kansas bill being considered by the House Standing Committee on Corrections and Juvenile Justice would give police the power to arrest people who file complaints against officers if those allegations were proven false.
Kansas Exposed pointed out this week that someone on the Corrections and Juvenile Justice had anonymously filed HB 2698, which would allow people to be charged with felony perjury.
And the measure would prevent any other law enforcement agency from taking up the investigation once it had been closed."* The Young Turks hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian break it down.

(3,539 posts)If you file a complaint against the police, the police will determine if the allegations are false.
Then you will be charged with felony perjury.
I wonder if the people who pass this bill will also remain anonymous.
Once again we see that in a GOP controlled state the 'rule of law' apples mostly to the major players.

(2,545 posts)It's good to be dictator said gw Bush. Kansas seems to like the way the FBI operates....accountability, we don't need no steeenking accountability. Won't be long before if you vote incorrectly you will be shot buy these self same untouchables. No doubt there will be a special prison for these complainers, these sniveling, whiny bedwetters. Perhaps in Cuba. And what will the dumbass dynasty do if they can't complain? Ah, let'm eat cake (she never said).

(8,395 posts). . . to the effect that any police officer who arrests someone against who is later acquitted of charges or for whom charges are dismissed should likewise be subject to a charge of felony perjury. That would nip this nonsense in the bud!
