DISCLAIMER - All credits go to Geoff Lawton and his Permaculture team for this video all I have done is got the four smaller nine minute videos from other users and edited them together to make one video.
This video shows how Geoff Lawton went to the Jordanian desert in 2001 and turned a ten acre bit of desert and turned it into a orchard.if this can be done in the Jordanian desert imagine what can be achieved not just here in the United Kingdom but everywhere.
We are trying to set up similar projects here in Devon but without the support for Permaculture companies and councils are not interested please show support by visiting

- Here is where Geoff Lawton first got his ideas about creating Permaculture Food Forests back in 1975:

(17,301 posts)I've tried a few permaculture ideas but it does require growing perennials, (most produce is annuals) using backhoes to create the berms and trenches or having plenty of logs.
One problem here is that we get so much rain that weeds move in immediately and outgrow anything planted if not weeded constantly. As soon as you clear an area, the weeds pop in practically overnight. Almost every tree planted gets this green lichen growing on it because it is so damp. Even wooden fences have it. I understand it's not dangerous to the trees. It just shows how wet it is here.
