1. The generation between the WWII generation and the older Boomers is dying off quickly

and everybody else has either tried it during their misspent youth or has seen friends try it and they know it's not nearly as bad as alcohol. Yes, some people will want too much of a good thing and they won't want to do anything else. Pot is likely kinder to body systems than either alcohol or tobacco, so they have time to outgrow it. Or not.

Still, there won't be the carnage we've seen with alcohol as the only party drug.

I think the time has finally come to undo the evil work of Harry Anslinger.
