is that if you feel you may need to carry a concealed weapon during an evacuation, simply get your carry permit now. The initial cost including a concealed carry class is not exorbitant by any means and the license is good for seven years.

Ten years ago I had to evacuate the Tampa Bay Area as Hurricane Charlie was predicted to make landfall in the region. I had my permit and I was carrying.

In passing, over 1,000,000 Floridians currently have valid concealed weapons permits.
