Over the top music and over the top claim: "LIFE on Earth." The human race is not the only life on earth and much of it will go on for millenniums after we have done ourselves in.

It is likely too late to stop the worst effects of climate change now since we have done pretty much nothing at all except chant 'global warming is real' for the last 42 years. Bringing canvas bags to the grocery and driving a Prius just makes us feel good. We all will collectively destroy whatever is left of the environment by sucking every last drop of petroleum out of the tar sands and everywhere else, fracking all the drinking water and letting more nuclear reactors melt down (there are 400 of them).

We probably are best served now by finding ways to adapt to extended drought and flood, heat waves, Category 5 hurricanes, blizzards and the like. Stop rebuilding on the shoreline. Worshiping celebrities seems pointless at this time. California's cropland is in the 4th year of drought and production is declining. The future we warn people about is here now.

Erin Brockovich is misspelled.

In a sense, the human race, faced with a deadly threat that we have known well for the last 42 years, has chosen hospice. We are not treating the root cause of the condition. We are just staying comfortable until the end comes.

Maybe you have given up on the human race, but I haven't. As long as there are a few good people trying to make a difference.
