2. This brought back so many memories

of the Weather Underground in the late 60s, early 70s. They were also running around with delusions of grandeur, padded resumes, and things that went boom. They also tended to blow themselves up more than they blew anything else up.

I laughed out loud at the one faction repairing to the cushy hotel and casino after some self important paranoid jackass said he had special information (coming through his fillings, no doubt) that the US gummint was going to send in the drones!

You can buy this model airplane for less than $200, plus radio, motor and battery. Isn't it beautiful? Imagine the panic that would ensue if someone just happened to buy one of these and fly it over the pretend soldiers' encampment.

They have drones you can build that have long range radios on them and can fly to specified GPS waypoints

The idea is to freak the fuck out of the tin soldiers on the ground. If I was just concerned with imaging the insurgents, I'd use a high-altitude air-breather. This little drone would fly low enough they'd see it...which is the whole point.
