How Big Money Can End US Oligarchy, Oklahoma's Earthquake Epidemic & ALEC's Charity Scam

EPISODE BREAKDOWN: On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin reports on the case of Cecily McMillan, who faces 7 years in prison after defending herself from a sexual assault by a police officer, calling out the skewed and absurdly long judicial process that found her guilty of second degree assault.

Abby then speaks with Harvard University professor, Lawrence Lessig, discussing his crowd-funded Super PAC aimed at investing in political candidates who promise to overturn the ruling from the Citizens United Supreme Court case that equates money with speech. Abby then goes over a new report by the US Geological Survey that suggests Oklahoma's recent earthquake outbreak could be linked to the growing practice of 'Fracking' in the state. Abby also speaks with RT Correspondent Marina Portnaya about the negative effects of fracking on human health and the environment.

BTS wraps up the show with an interview with Brendan Fischer, Staff Council of the Center for Media and Democracy, on American Legislative Exchange Council's (ALEC) leaked internal documents revealing its plans to hijack the EPA's authority and undermine environmental standards in the US.

- The police and in particular this so-called judge can kiss my ass. Karma will be a total bitch for some people. I, for one, look forward to watching these mofo's get exactly what they got coming to them.

This is why they call it a POLICE STATE people.
