I don't like fracking, but fracking is a remotely indirect source of this disaster, at best. The REAL problem is the shortcuts that natural gas companies are taking to transport this stuff. It's an issue that no one is talking about and is instead focused solely on fracking. It doesn't matter if this gas came from fracking or was extruded from the buttholes of snow leopard fetuses. If these transportation and distribution shortcuts continue, a major city-central disaster is eminent.

4. Fracking is a very big part of the picture, but you're right it isn't primary

A larger factor is the output of tar sands leading to a scaling up of tanker traffic in cars known to be unsafe.
