I used to change the channel or at least hit mute during the campaign. Shoulda done it tonight, too.

(45,984 posts)I skipped the intro (as recommended), listened to the first two or three minutes, got as far as the part about Obama hobnobbing with crony capitalists, shortly after the part about the New Deal making the Depression last longer, and stopped listening altogether to this woman's alternate history of the US.
Mrs. Palin: Unlike either one of us, my parents lived through the Great Depression. They told me a very different story about the New Deal and given the choice between the word of my Mom and Dad ans the word of a third rate office seeker who doesn't complete her term as governor, can't answer a general about current events when Charlie Gibson posed them and then has the audacity to call that a gotcha question, I'll take their word over yours every time.
Just one last point while I just mentioned it. That was not a gotcha question Mr. Gibson asked you about the Bush Doctrine. My civics teacher threw questions like that at me when I was in high school, except they were about the Vietnam War instead of the Bush Doctrine, and expected me to answer them. And gee whiz, Mrs. Palin, I've never had a spot on a national ticket. And I've never been reduced to to acting like a teenager unprepared for class on national television, either.
Judging by the brief part I just saw, it was all I could stand, it would seem you're no better prepared six years after you dragged Senator McCain's presidential bid to a halt, drowning in the mud, you're still not prepared to answer questions about current affairs or events of the past that shaped American history.
Now get lost.

(14,997 posts)I SWEAR I will NOT click on any stories involving Caribou Barbie and you got me! Every time someone clicks on a story about her, she gets magic internet points. That keeps her in the limelight. It's time for this bimbo ignoramus to go back to the frozen tundra.

(12,448 posts)I hope you followed Juanita Jean's recommendation and didn't listen to the whole trainwreck
"Caribou Barbie!" Good one!
leftieNanner
(14,997 posts)and I can't take credit for Caribou Barbie. It fits though, doesn't it? Although I think it's disrespectful to Barbie dolls everywhere.

(16,916 posts)Of course Palin is illiterate, but in this video she also appears to be hammered beyond coherence.
This goes beyond word saladitis. It's time for a new nickname for Sarah : Malibu Rum Barbie

(14,997 posts)I'm thinking maybe "Spinada" Barbie or "Boones Farm Strawberry Hill Wine" Barbie. (Does that show my age?) How about "Pint of cheap vodka in a brown paper bag" Barbie.

(45,984 posts)In her case, no one can tell by what she says. That's still nonsense and no worse than then has been heard from her before. Her speech doesn't sound slurred, but she's more animated than usual.

(18,124 posts)the people clapping, cheering and listening to her. That is what worries me about the gullibility, nay stupidity of the american voter! Why would any reasonable person listen to the ignorance and sheer lunacy of this idiot. To think she would have been the proverbial 'heartbeat away'. Americans dumbed down? For sure. I'm like Jessie Ventura, I' m actively trying to settle my affairs and move the fuck away from this country. Costa Rica has good medical care. I have friends that were born there and american friends that visit often. I don't like the huge american military presence there, but with america being the imperialist power it is in the 21st century, can't be helped. I'll just stay as far away from them as possible. I'm sick of the political absurdity of someone like palin being given a public forum time after time, gun violence present in all communities, hate, racism, homophobia, income equality, unfree press/news media, male fear of gender equality and sheer willful blindness to the lies spewed by the leaders at all levels of government in this country. Sorry, I went off.

You call them mountains.
I'm from Alaska were we have real mountains.
I have to remember that I'm in Colorado.
Don't inhale.
Really a classic sequence. The lady is a gem. We need her to go to as many Republican events as we can. Maybe we should even donate to her efforts. Seriously! What could be more helpful for us than having this drunken idiot campaigning against us?
