Former "Saturday Night Live" cast member Victoria Jackson has lost her bid as an independent candidate for a seat on a county commission in Tennessee.
Jackson, who calls herself a tea party conservative, moved to Thompson's Station last year and said she filed as an independent to run for the Williamson County Commission because she's "very disappointed with the Republican Party."
The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/1q001hp) reports Jackson received 632 votes. Two others received more votes: Judy Lynch Herbert with 1,422 and Betsy Hester with 1,380. The County Commission has two commissioners in each of its 12 districts.
Jackson had made appearances at multiple political events in Middle Tennessee since making her home there.

(111,245 posts)but in real life she's completely off her rocker.
I'm glad she got shot down. I can't imagine her progressing in the teabagger pipeline to DC.
"Too crazy for Tennessee" is almost as bad as "Too crazy for Texas."

(111,245 posts)Davis can be done very, very badly. Jackson wasn't that bad.
She's just a raving lunatic and I'm glad the voters agreed with me.

(11,843 posts)Jackson is, however, a raving lunatic as you said. Given her acting skills, it does make me wonder what talents got her on Saturday Night Live. Then again, during that era, Saturday Night Live was pretty bad.

(7,875 posts)I'm sorry, but the fact that she came in third is a very disturbing thought. I hope to God there were only three people running...
