He's basically a Democrat with a business background. Not the worst choice out there, although he may drift to the right to satisfy the base after getting in office. In a lot of ways, he's probably more left wing than Obama.

Santorum might be so far right he would not get independents, but he had a dangerous populism, and was much better than Mitt on the stump
