Mike Malloy - Detroit: No More Clean Water For The Poor

A Detroit judge ruled that there is no basic human right to water. Judge Steven Rhodes refused to extend a moratorium on water shutoffs another six months in the city of Detroit. If people cannot pay their water bills, they have no right to running water in their homes, he opined. Many see this as a heartless ruling and vow to continue the fight to make sure people have access to this vital resource.

That kind of rhetoric seems to have been tailor made to serve the fracking companies and those who want to put the Keystone XL Pipeline in to poison critical aquifers in the great American Midwest. Detroit is setting a valuable precedent for them in their plans to totally rape the environment and the American people, of course!

...it's private corporations in general trying to take over what will become a strategic resource - clean, potable water.

You know about Nestle, right? The Swiss concern known for it's chocolate confections and other things you find on your supermarket shelves? Well, they are also one of the world's biggest players in buying up and privatizing civic water supplies. One of the executives, in fact, went on record saying that water is a commodity, not a right.

What would I do? Get on the web, find out who/what Nestle owns, and BOYCOTT THEM!!!!! Give them NONE of your money! Green is the only color they see - they go blind without it.

That would be just a start.
