Watch Video When she was young, Aydin’s parents weren’t sure if she would be able to speak. Her life-threatening medical condition came with a long list of possible health problems that could impact her life. Even though she faces many obstacles, today, speaking is not one of them.

With a photo shoot finished, album recorded and a bundle of CDs ready to be autographed, Aydin is all set for her debut performance at a local music venue. Friends from her community join her during her Make-A-Wish® experience and make her feel like a true celebrity. With all eyes on her, Aydin takes the stage, lighting up the room with her singing and dancing. Bursting with joy, Aydin declares her wish day as the "best day ever!"

Aydin's parents weren't sure she'd ever speak. Her medical condition came with a long list of possible ways it could impact her life. Though she faces many obstacles, speech isn't one of them. Aydin even took it a step further and learned to love singing.

She told Make-A-Wish® volunteers that she wished to be a singer. She may not have envisioned everything Make-A-Wish would do to grant her wish … the photo shoots, the recording studio, the bundle of CDs and her debut performance at a local music venue. Every unexpected detail turned the day into something beyond Aydin's expectations. It became an event that will lift her spirits far into the future.

Friends from her community participated in her wish by hearing her sing and lining up to get her autograph. Aydin's experience gave her a glimpse of what life can hold besides medical treatments and worry. She had a day free from her worries … and it will always help her find courage and optimism to help her overcome challenges in her future.

Aydin's wish also opened the door for others in her community to feel the impact of a wish experience. Rachel, who owns The Wire music and arts venue with her husband, welcomed Aydin to perform. She saw first-hand what her time and generosity can do to help others. And she saw how she can find further opportunities to make her community better.

“We had no idea that, being a small business owner,” Rachel said, “there is something we can do to be a part of it.”
