SAN DIEGO - Several people protested Saturday behind the Pacific Beach home where a fundraiser for congressional candidate Carl DeMaio took place.

DeMaio was seen leaving the home after the fundraiser. His supporter, Speaker of the House John Boehner, left in an SUV moments before.

A few protesters stood behind the home with signs that read "dirty DeMaio" and "I stand with Todd," which refer to the sexual harassment claim that surfaced.

"There are allegations out there that need to be considered by the voters as they go to the polls on November 4," said Jess Durfee, a member of the Democratic National Committee, who organized the protest.

DeMaio's former staffer, Todd Bosnich, told CNN DeMaio repeatedly made unwanted sexual advances toward him. When he complained, he says DeMaio's campaign offered him $50,000 to keep quiet but he turned down the offer.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Protesters gathered outside a fundraiser held in Carl DeMaio's honor Saturday -- one day after the congressional candidate was accused of sexual harassment.

A former campaign staffer came forward saying DeMaio repeatedly harassed him.

Saturday, dozens of people, including House Speaker John Boehner, gathered for a fundraiser for DeMaio. Protesters were there too and say the accusations are even more of a reason for why DeMaio should not be elected.

Arriving and leaving separately to this private fundraiser in Pacific Beach Saturday -- our camera caught just a short glimpse of both House Speaker John Boehner and congressional candidate Carl DeMaio.

"Carl DeMaio is not what he says. His behaviors are inappropriate and he should absolutely not be a member of congress," said Jess Durfee.

4. DeMaio has run a campaign lying about his tea party/Koch past, he lies about everything

DeMaio is a Grover Norquist/Newt Gingrich protegee who has deep ties to the stink tank Reason Foundation, the Kochs and their Tea Party ideology. Just because he's openly gay does not mean that he will be any different from the most negative, obstructionist element in the Repug Congress. Despite his convoluted "Repug Rebel" propaganda, he represents the worst of the Repub party.

Our media in San Diego is very,very superficial and much very Repub. So only the most lurid of stories about DeMaio could break through their ordinarily positive whitewash of this candidate.( BTW this is not the first time DeMaio has been caught "red handed"...
Ben Hueso witnessed another eye bleach worthy DeMaio moment in the City Council restroom.) Only when DeMaio stories become hypersensational (If it bleeds, it leads) does the MSM media here seem to break their protective cover of DeMaio.

No one forces DeMaio (not even Scott Peters) to answer the real questions of what concerns our city & district. These questions need simple yes or no answers:

Will you support equal pay for women, will you support women's constitutional right to freedom of choice, do you believe in man made climate change & will you vote against your Koch Bros &ALEC to protect our vulnerable, coastal city, will you stand up to your NRA support and vote for an assault weapons ban, will you vote to pass the bipartisan immigration billl that has passed the Senate, will you support increasing budgets of our EPA and CDC to protect our national health, environment & children's future, will you work to lower interest rates on student loans to mortgage rate levels & fight against the privatization/looting of our public education, will you fight against voter suppression and voter id laws to insure that all Americans have the right to vote, will you support a govt jobs bill to fix our failing,critical infrastructure, will you support eliminating corporate loopholes including carried interest, inversion and off shore hoarding, will you oppose corporate "personhood" and support a Wall Street transaction tax, will you revive the inheritance tax to preBush slashing levels, and will you vote to support Social Security by eliminating the regressive taxable earnings cap of $105,000, which would make Soc Sec solvent in perpetuity, will you work towards Medicare for all?


Safe to say that DeMaio's answers will be no on all or at least the majority of them. But he''ll never answer them, just rail off to artificial issues & idiotic obfuscations...his speciality.


DeMaio has put no political issues in his campaign ads. His deluge of propaganda meant only to distract from serious issues- just petty character attacks on his politically milktoast opponent..."he's a millionaire, he profited owning defense contractor stock, he abused his car allowance with his BMW, he collects his (earned) pension while earning additional income!' and other "fainting couch worthy" junk issues. He stupidly thinks cleaning up Congress means denying them pensions! How about repealing Citizens United to start to get the filth out (including his Koch Bros & other ALEC pollution champs) Funny to have a fundraiser in PB with John Boehner who's presided over the least productive, most infantile, most vacationing (voting themselves more play than work days each year) House of Reps in history.



Does Ca-52 really want to send another supercilious, pedantic, snarling, nihilistic, grifting Newt Gingrich-Grover Norquist-Koch Bros-ALEC bound Republican to Congress. Aren't there enough there already?
