How Rupert Murdoch killed Ronan Farrow

Published on Oct 14, 2014 · Thom Hartmann discusses the state of broadcast news with Jeff Cohen, Journalism Professor & Founding Director-Park Center for Independent Media-Ithaca College / Author-Cable News Confidential: My Misadventures in Corporate Media (also, Co-Founder-RootsAction.org & Founder-Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting (F.A.I.R.)) Website: http://jeffcohen.org/

My summary: Cohen explains the good ratings of Fox News by describing typical FNC content as perpetual victimhood while MSNBC was more apologetic about Obama. Basically it helps ratings for media to be hostile to whoever is in power.

But he'll be OK. With his pedigree and his obvious brilliance (graduated Yale Law at age 21) after graduating from Bard College at age 15.

But that doesn't make him a media star. He's kinda bland.

Smarts don't mean everything in broadcast TV.
