2. She was venting

Politics, issues of race, and issues of right and wrong seemed far from her mind. Seems she'd tried to live in Chinatown and had had a bad experience. "Fuck your preschoolers making noise while I'm trying to sleep." Small kids of any ethnicity will make noise. She couldn't handle it because it didn't work with her schedule. Probably lots of other things bothered her for some reason or another -- I'm guessing stressors related to what kind of place you can live in on a tour guide's pay -- and she began to associate her distress with the things she saw around herself in Chinatown. She's been keeping it inside for a long time and finally on her last day of work at that place she can let it out.

If she'd been living in a neighborhood of some other one ethnicity, she'd have a mostly different list of issues (probably still including a preschool), but she'd be venting just the same.

Everything isn't politics. This is just one stressed-out tour guide.

7. Don't F@#k the Ginseng Till You've Tried It!

As a practitioner of Oriental herbal medicine, I want to say don't f@#k the Ginseng and Chinese herbs until you've tried them. It's kept the Chinese people a lot more healthy, vibrant and wise as a culture and a civilization than we in Western civilization, with all our pharmaceutical drugs with horrendous, and sometimes even lethal, side effects could ever be. And ditto for our GMOs, antibiotics, pesticides, fracking, and petroleum addiction - we are royally f@#king up the balance of Nature, and of the planet. We don't realize how sick we are as a so-called "civilization", and yet some have the nerve to poke fun at the Chinese. I think, especially in terms of health and living in balance with the planet and the wisdom of Nature, the Chinese will have the last laugh on this lady. So - got in my two cents' worth!
