Lysistrata

Runtime: 1 hr, 44 minutes

This is Aristophanes' comedy depicting how an oppressed underclass rises up and fights a tyrannical order by refusing to do what is routinely expected and exposing the hypocrisy of the aristocracy.

We may need to know how to organize such a revolt all too soon.

I have heard about this play for many years. It is really an important play for today. Because, underneath the sex, is how to stop ....
"war" What a new idea..."How to stop war"....So how old is this play anyway???....guess what...I found out how old this is....

"Lysistrata is a comedy by Aristophanes. Originally performed in classical Athens in 411 BC,....etc"....So, 2014 plus 411 equals
......2425...years ago a play was performed on how to stop war, and if the correct group gets together and has a "world wide boycott"...maybe the idea would still work. maybe.....AND....

thank you for posting this...I will do my best to watch it...thank you...Stuart

The first thing we have to do is recognize that we live in an oligarchy, although the American people are, for the most part, a people of democratic values. Thus, we must realize that we are being conned and we're not going to have any more of it.

As respect for way, that means we must be conscious that the last war the US fought that was not colonial in nature was World War II. Since then, the goal has been to bomb somebody into submission and not to spread democracy. An imperial power is not interested in spreading democracy, ever. We went to war in Vietnam because we didn't want the Vietnamese people to choose their own leaders without our approval and we went to war in Iraq to make sure sure the Iraqi people's oil was controlled by US oil companies. Now we have right wing billionaires telling us who can vote and who cannot. Therefore, it would only be right and proper if we tell the oligarchs that we will not fight their imperialist wars for them any longer. After al while, we won't buy their products, either. Neither will we pay a punitive tax levied against any home owner who installs solar panels on his roof nor go back on the grid once we're off of it.

If Dave and Charlie Koch don't like it, then they just don't understand civil disobedience to their tyranny.
