(3,544 posts)Has anyone ever compared the paper trail to the actual reported numbers? EVER?
One would think that would be the first thing you would do when testing a program. DUH...
I would also think that this would be done prior to ANY election. A small sampling of 2K should do it.
OK, so we just had an election. Hire someone to compare the numbers. Let's see how accurate they are.
Inquiring minds want to know.

(418 posts)Many, maybe most of our current voting machines do not have paper trails. In my opinion, this is outrageous!

(314 posts)elections are rigged! That would mean we have to spend money on our government! Which is something the "right" hates!

(3,626 posts)Ohio voting machine software. That's not to say the same or similar B.S. is not still going on, but it's disingenuous to imply that this is a current situation or testimony. Your 'published April 18, 2011' is misleading, at best. I think it's hilarious that this You Tube was plastered all over the interwebs in November 2012, claiming the machines were rigged to favor President Obama. I bookmarked this exact clip way back when, for historical reference. Sorry, I don't have the exact date, but it's at least a decade old.

(11,076 posts)Our own SOS deemed our machines to be easily hackable and was unable to rectify the problem before vacating her office mid term. Go figure.
We need Jimmy Carter and paper ballots. Why can't we protect our own elections?

(5,049 posts)During the counting process - anyone can come and watch. To hell with the machines - we need to demand paper ballots and a supervised hand counting of all votes for each election. Period.

Remember the Republican IT Consultant from the 2004 election that was subpoenaed in that case?

Wonder why voting machines are still in use?
