On CTV: Ferguson PD "will not exist a year from now"

http://www.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=503837

Editor of Saint Louis American tells CTV of Darren Wilson resignation: "We knew it was coming" and goes further to say that within a year the Ferguson Police Dept. will be dissolved.

It happened that way in Jennings, MO, (where Wilson came from before going to Ferguson) shut down for a pattern of practice probe by the DOJ.

"The Ferguson Police Dept. will not exist a year from now".

Ferguson is the tip of the iceberg. There is inherent racism in the cultures of many (most?) urban police departments. We need to get to the root causes, and find ways to prevent this, not just shut down a department here and there when the offenses become too obvious.

It's a good thing! longest journeys begin with... and all that.

but yes, you are correct- maybe closing Ferguson PD (and Jennings) will serve as a template for future cases.

Bringing their attitudes and habits with them.

So yes, it is good, but there needs to be much, much more.

I expect that the police force will be subject to consent decree or agreement at some point
