It's actually kind of sad to see this. He's got to be in anguish, and it couldn't be more obvious that he's overcompensating.

Not that I'm making excuses for him, for even a microsecond.

This idiot hate-monger doesn't understand the words coming out of his mouth. He should read All of Leviticus, not just the one verse he wants to use to spew his sinful hatred. Leviticus was written as part of Jewish law and is filled with "crimes" that had little meaning in the ancient world and no meaning today. This shit-brained preacher wouldn't last five minutes if he tried to implement the laws written about in Leviticus. No need for me to mention all of them. I have a strong belief that he is fighting against his own homosexual feelings. I wonder if he even knows that love for the same sex is prevalent throughout nature? I wonder if it ever entered what passes for his brain that if God created everything, then it follows that he created homosexuality. But it is a waste of energy to argue with someone who is so incredibly stupid.

He gives religion a bad name, but he is only one of many "pastors" who do that.

A couple of times. Once just some dude I met, and another time a street preacher. Both times I took a "calculated" risk that what I said wouldn't actually set them off but hopefully at least shut them the hell up. After yelling that the Bible/God commands that we stone homosexuals to death I said something like, "Why don't you do it then? You're shooting off your mouth about it claiming God commands that it be done, but you're not doing it. Why are you disobeying God? Surely he'll protect you from reprisals like being arrested? Either stop being a fucking pussy and do it or shut up." Fortunately both were taken aback and let the subject drop. I'd like for someone to join this guy's congregation when he started saying stuff like this and stand up and yell, "Yeah! C'mon! Let's go stone some now! C'mon! God commands we do this!" and then start calling them wimps when no one moves.

It's hard to tell, and you don't want to actually incite anyone, but I get the feeling this guy and his congregation are exactly like one particular white supremacy group (can't quite remember which one) who are basically a bunch of Bubbas who go out into the woods and shoot beer cans and fantasize about a coming race war they hope others will start, that they can jump on the coattails of after the dangerous parts have passed.
