Related: About this forumA Brief History Of Marijuana In America by Comedian John Fugelsang (The Point)
This is comedian John Fugelsang's opening monologue from this week's episode of the new YouTube funded panel show from TYT, The Point.
Is it time to legalize marijuana? Is Van Jones right that eliminating the EPA would cost lives? Is the Tupac Shakur 'hologram' performance at Coachella a sign of things to come for the music industry? John Fugelsang (Sexy Liberal Comedy Tour) leads this weeks panel to discuss these issues and more with Kevin Eubanks (musician, former Tonight Show band leader), Cara Santa Maria (neuroscientist, and correspondent at The Huffington Post), and Allison Weiner (host of Media Mayhem on TheLip.TV). Special thanks to Dale Sky Jones (Executive Chancellor of Oaksterdam University, Chairwoman of Coalition for Cannabis Policy Reform 2012), and Van Jones (Co-founder of RebuildTheDream.com, author of Green Collar Economy) for sending in points.

(16 posts)All said in these videos very true. So why is marijuana illegal?
Why the recent major police arrests of state-legal marijuana places?
Why no discussion of this issue in the media? It mainly brushed off as a joke...
Why has 40-50 years of lobbying and activism and democratic voting failed to accomplish change?

(4,769 posts)moronic position that can no longer be defended. You've caused enough damage.
And it's time the supporters of this drug war, everyone from the president down to some loud mouth at the neighborhood bar, were forced to own all of its damage. (And there's a lot of damage to own.)

(4,823 posts)My friend who takes state defense cases says those who deal with the problem of drug related crime know best about the huge waste of resources involved with enforcing pot laws and the crime it engenders.
