The Greater Fitzroy Delta is the guardian of the Great Barrier Reef. Its a massive system of mangroves and wetlands and is relatively untouched, filtering vast volumes of water on its way to the Reef.
Its home to unique species including the Snubfin Dolphin, Flatback Turtle and thousands of migratory birds.
Until recently the Delta was under threat from one of the most damaging port expansion projects in Queenslands history and could be again unless we take action to give it permanent protections.
Weve made this stunning video to tell the world about the importance of the Greater Fitzroy Delta.
Watch the video and sign the petition asking Premier Newman and his ministers to help the Reef by taking action that will protect the Delta forever.
If we dont act to protect the Greater Fitzroy Delta now, it could be the next place along the Reef threatened by rapid industrial development.
Please sign the petition asking our politicians to provide permanent protection for the Delta.
Were collecting signatures from people all over the world who love the Reef and will present the petition to the Premier in the coming weeks.
Please make sure your name is on the petition.

Fitzroy Delta Petition
Dear Premier,
The Greater Fitzroy Delta, at the mouth of the largest river system on the east coast is the guardian of the Great Barrier Reef.
It's a massive system of mangroves and wetlands and is relatively untouched, filtering vast volumes of water on its way to the Reef. The Delta is so important to the health of the region and the Reef that a recent study estimated it is worth up to $2.9 billion dollars in environmental services.
Until recently the Delta was under threat from one of the most damaging port expansion projects in Queenslands history.
Now we have a unique opportunity to secure permanent protection for the Delta, forever.
I urge you to extend adjacent National Park and Marine Park areas and implement other measures that will guarantee the permanent protection of the Delta.
The Delta belongs to all of us. We want you to act wisely and protect it for the future.
