The Real Reason Politicians Want Welfare Reform. FINAL JUDGMENT

John Iadarola (host of Think Tank) discusses the real reason Republicans are pushing for welfare reform. Republicans claim the reason they're cutting welfare is to save money but John has facts proving otherwise. In John's opinion the GOP's push to cut welfare is all about humiliation.

And that's one way of weeding people off the welfare rolls. Make them go through all these crazy hoops, just like performing circus dogs. Or make applying for and managing your benefits so tedious and time consuming that you just wanna give up and go home. By the way, if you gotta take a drug test, you can get a negative result, even if you've been smoking marijuana or indulging in other drugs by taking the herb Golden Seal for one or two weeks before the test - it flushes out and detoxifies your liver from the drugs. But even that measure is not for the terribly needy - Golden Seal can be quite pricey.

I have been on unemployment, temporary state disability, and have applied for SSDI being unable to maintain regular work. It took me a while to accept I should also apply for SNAP, which I am currently on. That was because I felt ashamed doing it. My therapist said that is what those programs are there for, and I am a lifelong liberal who knows that. Still, I felt I should not need the assistance and was guilty about it. Why? Because our society is fucked up and punishes people for being in circumstances they are in no way responsible for.
