(291 posts)3. The GOP
Well, the GOP won't bring this one up because it may highlight their own hypocrisy vis-a-vis fundraising. They will stick with faux scandals--Benghazi, White Water et al.

(5,902 posts)4. That would be the CoLOMbian trade deal
But considering the fact that Colombia's regime takes it an endorsement for killing 3,000 teachers, labor organizers, and farmers annually, I'd say it's a bad idea however you look at it.
Just don't expect our teleprompter-reading media to call it out for the dirty war that it is though (except msnbc, from time to time).

- That's modern democracy at work. Petroleum is the grease that makes things move. Such as allowing minds to change more easily, and with no more unwanted noises!!! And as an added bonus, it gets rid of ethical dilemmas because everyone looks the other way in order to keep gas cheap!!!
Plus, she probably got word (her orders) from down the street......

(9,688 posts)6. There is also this, from 2005
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/04/08/bill-clintons-ties-to-col_n_95651.html?
"Former President Bill Clinton has earned hundreds of thousands of dollars speaking on behalf of a Colombia-based group pushing the trade pact, and representatives of that organization tell The Huffington Post that the former president shared their sentiment.
In June 2005, Clinton was paid $800,000 by the Colombia-based Gold Service International to give four speeches throughout Latin America. The organization is, ostensibly, a development group tasked with bringing investment to the country and educating world leaders about the Colombia's business opportunities.
The group's chief operating officer, Andres Franco, said in an interview that the group supports the congressional ratification of the free trade agreement and that, when Clinton was on his speaking tour, he expressed similar opinions."

I was aware of Bill Clinton's speeches at the time, and was appalled -- so I didn't believe Hillary Clinton in 2008.
Who could believe that such vast sums of money could exchange hands between such rapacious people as this, with no expectation that the markers on the IOUs will be called in? This is the out and out buying/selling of the gov't of the USA.
