(23,946 posts)Next up for Christie: another deck of Victim Cards will be played....the mass media is as corrupt as Christie.

(5,141 posts)I just did a google news search under his name...crickets. If it was a Democrat there would be several hours devoted to it on each channel - including MSNBC.
Fred Sanders
(23,946 posts)carefully avoid mention so as not to implicate themselves.

(5,141 posts)I have no faith at all in the Fourth Estate - Edmund Burke at least got the point correct that they act as a fourth branch of government - - theyre just as corrupt as the other three.

(25,183 posts)The more money Christie pisses away, the less money for buying something that might actually swing a few votes.

(80,693 posts)Btw - LOVE LOVE LOVE this, louis-t! "GOP party money"! Of course! It wasn't for the POLITICAL party, it was for the shmoozy, drinky, hors d'oeuvres-y, hang-out-and-watch-the-ball-game-in-the-fancy-seats-with-the-VIPs party. The party with the free-flowing drinks and platters of tasty num-nums and hot 'n' cold-running high rollers. THAT party.

That'll be shown all the time during the campaigns - not a nice imagine of Christie.

(18,652 posts)Good news, Christie caught in ANOTHER sleazy deal on top of withholding Hurr. Sandy funds from mayors who didn't support his re-election bid and the Bridgegate scandal. The guy is burning TOAST.

(95,337 posts)I think this is an utter waste of money for private jets. Can't the guy take a commercial airline flight? Even flying first class with a few staffers is far cheaper than taking private jets.
It's not like the GOP has control of anything else in New Jersey. They can't win a US Senate race nor can they win control of either part of their state Congress. (Dems control both). I'm sure the donors would like to know their money is being spent to help get people elected, not have Christie party at Dallas Football games with Jerry Jones or run Chris Christie's presidential aspirations.

(764 posts)He went to school and learned the game as a prosecuter so now nothing sticks. He is untouchable but will only be allowed to do what improves the GOP brand. Once he is no longer serving a purpose for the GOP he will get a job on Wallstreet. Wonder if he will even finish his term as gov of NJ?

(50,983 posts)Chris Christie is serving as a tackling dummy for the GOP right now.
He even advocated raising the retirement age to 69 the other day. He is inviting criticism.
It is up to you to decide why the GOP is doing this with Christie.
I believe Christie serves strictly as a detraction mechanism.
