Did These Swedish Cops School The NYPD?

Four vacationing Swedish police officers subdued a fight on an NYC subway while waiting for the NYPD to arrive. One brawler held down by a Swedish officer screamed “I can't breathe,” but many people are commending the officers on their non-violent takedown.

That guy was doing a lot of yelling and screaming.

Good job on the part of the Swedish officers.

These cops were using EXCELLENT technique. No one was directly on his back and nothing and no one touched his neck. I'm sorry if you feel like you can't catch your breath, but that is not the fault of these law enforcement officers.

that police in the US are merely thugs with badges and guns.
Overseas police actually want to help people, so use of weaponry, bullying and shooting are frowned upon, because they lead to the public not trusting the police.
Each and every law enforcement officer in the US needs to have this drilled in to his or her head until they get it.

The Swedes took control of the situation without harming anyone or putting themselves in jeopardy. And THAT is the way that good cops do it. I would like to thank the Swedish cops for showing us how it should be done. Well Done !!

They'd want to put in their two penn'orth, foreshore. They'd probably end up tasing them all, and perhaps shooting some of the Swedes!

than American police treat their own family members.

I found it quite moving, actually, reflecting on the contrast between the way those young Swedish coppers went about the task they had freely undertaken, and the murderous thuggery shown by some of your home-grown police, day after day after day, these past few weeks.

Those young Swedes had self-respect to spare - and it showed in the respect they showed for others, and for their job, if it comes to that. I find it doubly sad, as I have this lingering notion that a lot of Americans, like the Aussies, particularly in days gone by (everything has been deteriorating in every country), have kind of old-fashioned Christian values, however informally held.

I had thought Sweden was desperately secular, but quite the contrary, seemingly, despite some, on the face of it, bizarrely conflicting statistics. But have a look under Religion on the Wiki site for Sweden, and make up your own mind. One paragraph in particular 'knocked my socks off'.

'Sociology professor Phil Zuckerman claims that Swedes, despite a lack of belief in God, commonly question the term atheist, preferring to call themselves Christians while being content with remaining in the Church of Sweden.[197] Other research has shown that religion in Sweden continues to play a role in cultural identity.[198] This is evidenced by the fact that around 70 per cent of adults continue to remain members of the Lutheran Church[199] despite having to pay a church tax; moreover, rates of baptism remain high and church weddings are increasing in Sweden.[198]'

The Church of Sweden (Lutheran) was separated from the State in 2000..
