TYT: Bobby Jindal Refuses To Give In To Gay Marriage Bullies

“The debate over religious liberty in America presents conservatives and business leaders with a crucial choice.

In Indiana and Arkansas, large corporations recently joined left-wing activists to bully elected officials into backing away from strong protections for religious liberty. It was disappointing to see conservative leaders so hastily retreat on legislation that would simply allow for an individual or business to claim a right to free exercise of religion in a court of law.

Our country was founded on the principle of religious liberty, enshrined in the Bill of Rights. Why shouldn’t an individual or business have the right to cite, in a court proceeding, religious liberty as a reason for not participating in a same-sex marriage ceremony that violates a sincerely held religious belief?

That is what Indiana and Arkansas sought to do. That political leaders in both states quickly cowered amid the shrieks of big business and the radical left should alarm us all.

As the fight for religious liberty moves to Louisiana, I have a clear message for any corporation that contemplates bullying our state: Save your breath.”

There's a point on the intensity of gay-hating that it doesn't really matter if you go past it since ALL the republican candidates are going to have plenty of gay-hating credentials as well. Trying to be the most gay-hatingest douchebag isn't going to be much help.

And I've said it many times, after 8 years of Obama, republicans really want a lighter-skinned person in the White House. The most Bobby could hope for is a running mate sot.

For the LAST TIME, freedom doesn't mean "the ability to pick on and discriminate against people I don't like." Freedom actually means "equality for all, prejudice towards none."

You know, live and let live unless someone is actively hurting you or society (and no, please spare us the melodramatic moans about how gay marriage is destroying our country - it's ironic that Republicans accuse gays of histrionics and "bullying" when as usual they're the ones slinging their own feces while waving their arms in horror)?

You know, do your FUCKING JOB and serve those cakes, take those pictures, rent those tuxedos and otherwise perform the public service you're supposed to be EARNING A FUCKING INCOME from rather than holding your little noses and whining piteously "WAAAAH!! I don't LIKE gay people! I don't want to have to SERVE THEM! They're being SO UNFAIR by trying to enjoy the same things straight people do!" If you can't handle that, quit and get in a breadline. The red states most of you pukes live in suck down PLENTY of federal dollars (despite all the little cries of independent and self-sufficiency from the Republicans) - more so than blue states, so please go on welfare if you can't handle the rigors of your career. And please make sure to do it in a state intent on seceding so you can all drown in your own financial problems, leaving the rest of us out of it.

I am so sick of these programmed little idealogues barking and clapping the flippers for the crowd, desperate to earn a fish or two from the religious right. But the good news is that the more they howl, the more they're dying out. People like Jindal don't stand a chance in this progressive society where more and more people are - gasp! - MINDING THEIR OWN BUSINESS AND LEAVING OTHERS ALONE!

Lots of luck running for President, Bobby. You'll need it.

leads me conclude that it speaks more to the concept of religious tolerance by a dominant secular state than to a laissez-faire endorsement of any particular religions "religious liberty" to do whatever its adherents want. The Thirty Years War and the wars with the Ottoman Empire taught an object lesson not lost upon the Founding Fathers but apparently never learned by certain branches of fundamentalist religion despite all the misery it has brought to the world over just the last 500 years.

For states where job applicants can read at a fourth grade level and add two-digit numbers in their heads. This disqualifies most students coming out of Louisiana's school system.
